Dacic, China's Xu discuss cooperation in fight against crime

MARRAKESH - Serbia's Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met with Chinese Vice Minister for Public Security Xu Datong on Tuesday to discuss success achieved this year in cooperation in the fight against organised crime, as well as steps that could be taken to further curb criminal activities.

Dacic and Xu met on the sidelines of the second day of the 93rd Interpol General Assembly session in Marrakesh, an official statement said.

Noting that he had paid a very successful visit to China in September last year, Dacic said the Chinese side had an open invitation to visit Serbia at the highest strategic level.

They discussed potential directions of developing the cooperation through joint projects and experience-sharing in the field of securing large-scale and high-risk events such as EXPO 2027.

Dacic and Xu also noted that their countries maintained extremely good cooperation within Interpol, both operationally - after as many as five extraditions carried out in recent years based on requests by Interpol's Beijing office - as well as strategically, in terms of strategic cooperation on coordinating positions regarding Interpol's development.
