ROME - The director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic met on Wednesday in Rome with Pietro Sferra Carini - a member of Italian PM Giorgia Meloni's cabinet - to inform him of the political and security situation in Serbia's autonomous province.
Petkovic conveyed Serbia's and President Aleksandar Vucic's gratitude to the Meloni government for its balanced and constructive approach to the process of the Brussels dialogue, as well as for its understanding for the position of Serbia and the Serbs, the Office said in a statement.
Petkovic noted that Belgrade was firmly committed to normalisation of relations with Pristina as well as to sustainable solutions in the dialogue but had no adequate discussion partner in Pristina because "Albin Kurti's policy is based on heightening tensions, destruction of dialogue and escalatory and unilateral moves that are detrimental to the Serbs."
