BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Libyan Ambassador to Belgrade Mohamed Omar Atadjiba bin Galbun on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, characterised by traditional friendship and decades-long cooperation between the two countries.
"Macut recalled that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, stating that in the coming period it is important to intensify political dialogue, especially through the exchange of visits at high and highest levels," a government statement said.
"The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the holding of the Serbia-Libya Business Forum on December 10-11 in Belgrade, as well as the forum held in January this year in Tripoli.
The Prime Minister emphasised that these forums have opened new prospects for further improvement of economic cooperation, and added that mutual visits of businesspeople and the exchange of experiences will become a regular practice in economic relations between the two countries.
Macut underlined that it is particularly necessary to deepen cooperation in all areas of defence – military-to-military, military-medical, military-economic, military-educational and military-scientific cooperation.
He said that Serbia and Libya will continue to support each other on issues important to both countries," it said.
