BELGRADE - Economic progress - Serbia's key interest - has materialised in the past 13 years, with its GDP rising from around 33 bln euros in 2012 to more than 90 bln in 2025, Acting Secretary General at the Serbian MFA Dusan Kozarev said on Wednesday.

Addressing a Belgrade Economic Forum panel on geopolitical changes and the future of international relations, Kozarev said Serbia's GDP would exceed 100 bln euros in 2027, tripling compared to 2012.

He said Serbia was pursuing a balanced foreign policy.

"Our work is aimed at us making progress while remaining true to ourselves," he said.

Kozarev said that, in a dynamic and challenging world, Serbia remained committed to regional cooperation and stayed on the path of EU accession while not abandoning traditional friendships.

Serbia is returning to old friendships by opening new horizons in Asia and Africa, he added.

Kozarev also noted that a "mini Schengen" of Western Balkan countries would be in Serbia's interest and mean much to it.
