BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday Serbia and Greece had confirmed their commitment and support to the principles of UN resolutions and territorial integrity.

Just like Greece supports Serbia's territorial integrity, Serbia supports the integrity and sovereignty of Greece on land and sea, Vucic told a press conference in Belgrade after a meeting with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and a plenary meeting of Serbian and Greek delegations.

"I thank the president and the PM for supporting the territorial integrity. Respect of international law is important to us, and I confirmed during the meeting how significant it is to work on compromise solutions with Pristina," Vucic said.

He said he had thanked Sakellaropoulou for supporting Serbia on the EU path and for Greece's efforts to help.

"I believe we can achieve further progress in the economy as well," he said.

Vucic said he was happy to have welcomed the Greek delegation.

"Serbia and Greece have more than traditional, sisterly and brotherly ties - our peoples understand each other well, and politicians just follow what people have long felt. Today, we analysed the political situation in the southeast European region and globally, bilateral and economic ties and opportunities for further cooperation," Vucic noted.

Vucic also said the volume of Serbia-Greece bilateral trade had reached a record high of 788.5 mln euros last year.
