BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday preservation of peace and stability was the most significant task for the coming period and that the fight for Serbia's territorial integrity and accelerated economic activities were the second and third most important goals, respectively.
"It is important that, everywhere, we try to solve problems through discussions and dialogue, and that will not be simple, but we will have to preserve peace because we had generations of people in our country that we lost between the beginning and the end of the last century. It is time to have a century of peace, a century of stability and certainty for our citizens. That is the first objective - preservation of peace and stability," Vucic said at the opening of the Ambassadorial Conference in Belgrade.
Speaking about the second objective, Vucic said there must be no deviation from the Constitution of Serbia and the country's territorial integrity.
"Accordingly, we must always maintain dialogue with all governments, except with those that have given birth to an independent 'Kosovo'. We have nothing to discuss with them when it comes to that, because they have always been and will always be against us on that important issue," he said.
Accelerating Serbia's economic activities will require more significant presence of Serbian diplomats in Asian, African and Central and South American states, he also said.
"That especially applies to China, as well as to some other Asian countries, because we simply do not have enough people there to be able to do that. The economy is crucial for us - especially, new technologies, artificial intelligence and connecting with all those from whom we can obtain new knowledge in technology, as well as use of nuclear power capacities and construction of small- and large-sized nuclear power plants, as those are things about which we know almost nothing, or very little, and that is why it is important to train as many people as possible and learn as much as possible," Vucic said.
He noted that Serbia was on the EU path and that the job of all Serbian diplomats was to do everything in their power for the country to progress on that path.
