BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has received New Year's and Christmas greetings from numerous foreign officials, the presidential press office said on Tuesday.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished much health and happiness to Vucic and further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Serbia.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent greetings.
Putin noted that Russian-Serbian relations were based on a centuries-old tradition of friendship, mutual respect and spiritual closeness, and expressed the belief that further development of strategic partnership, as well as mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation in various spheres, fully suited the interests of the brotherly nations.
Putin also wished good health, happiness and success to Vucic and peace and prosperity to all Serbian citizens.
Vucic also received holiday greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
In his greetings, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi wished Vucic that 2026 may mark a renewed commitment to reviving joint efforts and constructive engagement, governed by dialogue and mutual understanding, along with strengthening of bilateral relations, encouraging closer cooperation and achieving tangible benefits for the two friendly nations.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also sent greetings, as have Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, European Council President Antonio Costa and UAE Vice President and Deputy PM Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In his greetings, Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis wished a merry Christmas to Serbian citizens and noted that the year that was ahead brought the promise of even stronger dialogue and partnership between Serbia and Greece and a reconfirmation of a joint commitment to stability and well-being of the citizens of the two countries.
Vucic also received holiday greetings from UAE PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, Kuwaiti Emir Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, as well as from Spanish King Felipe VI, Bahreini King Hammad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Norwegian King Harald V and Danish King Frederik X.
