Vucic holds important discussions with Washington, good news for Serbia due soon

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has held important discussions with Washington and good news for Serbia is due to be announced soon, Tanjug learns.

Vucic has had important discussions with the Washington administration, the US Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the State Department, as well as with Hungarian PM Viktor Orban, about solving the issue of the Serbian oil company NIS, the RTS reported on Wednesday.

NIS is under US sanctions due to its Russian majority ownership.

Vucic will inform the public of the discussions in more detail in an appearance on the RTS on Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, in his New Year's greetings to the citizens of Serbia, Vucic said the country would be rejoicing at "phenomenal" political news within 24 hours.

"I believe we will be rejoicing at phenomenal political news within 24 hours. We have worked hard. We deserve it. Long live Serbia," Vucic posted on X.
