BELGRADE, Jan 16 (Tanjug) - Media adviser to the president of Serbia, Suzana Vasiljevic, said on Friday talks about an acquisition of the Russian stake in the Serbian oil company NIS by the Hungarian oil firm MOL had come to the final stage and that she expected the negotiating parties to send a final paper to the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the end of this week.
"It has now come to some kind of final stage, to put it that way. I do not know the details, but we expect them to send that final paper to the OFAC at the end of this week and that we will see what the OFAC response to that is. They will send it, which, of course, does not mean the OFAC will immediately say 'It can be done' or 'It cannot be done'. I do not know, it may take them a day or two to go through those papers, and then we will see," Vasiljevic said on K1 TV.
She noted that the Ministry of Mining and Energy and its partners were more familiar with the matter.
