Serbian gov't sets up operating team for EU accession, names Apostolovic as its chair

BELGRADE - The Serbian government has decided to set up an operating team that will coordinate expedited fulfilment of all commitments on Serbia's EU path, says the latest issue of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.

The team will be comprised of top-level state officials led by Danijel Apostolovic, head of the Serbian Mission to the EU.

The ten-member team also includes Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starovic - who is also Serbia's chief negotiator in the EU talks and national coordinator for the Instrument for Reforms and Growth - First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, Justice Minister Nenad Vujic, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic, Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, presidential adviser Tatjana Jovic, adviser to the PM Nemanja Dikovic and the head of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic.

At Sunday's theme session of the Government of Serbia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic proposed the establishment of the operating team to boost capacities and accelerate the path to Serbia's EU accession, and put forward Apostolovic as its chairperson.
