TRSTENIK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday the establishment of a Serbian operating team for EU integration was not a charade but a step aimed at accelerating Serbia's EU integration.
Speaking to reporters in Velika Drenova near Trstenik, central Serbia, Vucic noted that the move was not a result of any criticism in Davos, where he attended the World Economic Forum.
He added that he was well-respected by everyone in Davos and that, as a proud president of Serbia, he received no criticism from anyone, including the presidents of the world's most powerful countries.
Vucic was commenting on a report by Nova S that said the establishment of the team was a charade for Ursula von der Leyen following criticism he had allegedly received in Davos.
"We did that to demonstrate that we can get closer to the EU, that we can go faster and that we can solve tasks and issues in which we have unfortunately not shown great interest in the past. And you will see, I am certain that there will be results," he noted.
