Operating team for Serbia's EU accession to hold its first session Friday

BELGRADE - The Operating Team for Serbia's EU accession will hold its first session on Friday.

It will be chaired by Chairperson Danijel Apostolovic, who is also Serbia's ambassador to the EU.

The session, to be held in the Serbian government building, is scheduled for 10 am.

It will also be attended by Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starovic - who is also Serbia's chief negotiator in the EU accession talks and national coordinator for the Instrument for Reforms and Growth - Justice Minister Nenad Vujic, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic, presidential foreign policy adviser Tatjana Jovic, the PM's foreign policy adviser Nemanja Dikovic and the head of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic, a government statement said.

On January 26, the Serbian government decided to set up an operating team of top-level state officials that will coordinate expedited fulfilment of all commitments on Serbia's EU path.

At a January 25 theme session of the government, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic proposed the establishment of the operating team to boost capacities and accelerate the path to Serbia's EU accession, and put forward Apostolovic as its chairperson.
