Vucic congratulates Karan on winning repeat presidential elections in R Srpska

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has congratulated Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) candidate Sinisa Karan on winning Sunday's repeat presidential elections in Republika Srpska.

"I am confident you will perform the new duty with the commitment of a wise and responsible leader. The obligation that being elected by the people carries is the greatest, the most difficult and the most sacred for all of us," Vucic posted on X on Sunday evening.

He added that the Serbian nation faced "enormous challenges" and that these were difficult times.

"Serbia will always stand with Srpska, ready to expand cooperation and work with commitment on strengthening the ties in all areas to the benefit of our people and all citizens," Vucic also posted.
