BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met on Wednesday with a delegation of the foreign affairs committee of the Spanish Senate.
"Brnabic underlined that Spain is a country with which Serbia has excellent bilateral relations. She once again thanked the guests for their principled respect for the territorial integrity of our country," the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia said in a statement.
"The Parliament Speaker also stressed that Serbia greatly appreciates Spain's support of our European integration, reminding that membership in the European Union remains our country’s strategic goal. Brnabic informed the members of the Spanish Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee about the formation of the EU accession operational team last month.
The officials also discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, as well as all other options for furthering the already good relations," it said.
The meeting was also attended by Serbian Deputy Parliament Speaker Elvira Kovac, who also chairs the parliamentary committee on European integration.
