NEW DELHI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday in New Delhi, where he is attending the India AI Impact Summit 2026, that Serbia must build infrastructure for greater use of artificial intelligence (AI) and change its education system.
"Many young Indians came to our booth, and we explained to them what we have and what we are offering in our country. We must continue to build infrastructure because AI requires computers and computers require electricity, and we will have to deal with all those key issues, as well as develop data centres," Vucic told reporters after visiting the Serbia booth at the summit.
"We must deal with changes to the education system and set aside more funds for education," he noted.
"We will also have to deal with investing more in the parts of both the economy and education - and culture, if you will, as well as our army - where instances of AI will become particularly notable. At the France booth, you were able to see how decisions about what target needs to be hit are made 15 times faster compared to the conventional way of decision-making," Vucic said.
Vucic, IMF's Georgieva discuss diglitalisation of economy, development of AI
NEW DELHI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New Delhi to discuss digitalisation of the economy and swift development of artificial intelligence (AI), as well as their impact on the labour market.
"Particular focus was on the energy sector as the pillar of development, as well as on challenges for stabilisation of global circumstances that are spilling over into our region," Vucic posted on Instagram.
He added that he had a cordial meeting with Georgieva, and added that he had listened attentively to her advice and ideas for tackling today's most pressing challenges.
"I reiterated the gratitude to the IMF for its trust in Serbia, and noted that a responsible macroeconomic policy, with support and engagement from the IMF, has helped Serbia to build a strong protection system in a challenging environment," Vucic also posted.
