Vucic, Indian president discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation in many areas

NEW DELHI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Thursday in New Delhi with Indian President Droupadi Murmu to discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation in many areas.

"As part of the visit to India, I had an excellent and friendly meeting with the president of India about expanding our cooperation in many areas. Hospitality and a readiness for further development of inter-state relations again confirm the deep respect and friendship Serbia and India have been cherishing for decades now," Vucic posted on Instagram.

Vucic added that they had discussed strengthening of economic ties, connecting the two economies, promoting investments, as well as opportunities to take cooperation in innovation, technology and education to a higher level.

"I especially appreciate the sincere support and the readiness to advance our partnership in a time when development increasingly relies on knowledge, advanced technologies and digital transformation," Vucic noted.

He thanked Murmu for showing respect to Serbia and for her understanding for Serbian national interests.

"This meeting confirms a joint commitment to peace, stability and development of not only our states but the wider international environment. We continue to build relations based on mutual respect and trust while opening up new possibilities for our citizens and our economies," Vucic posted.

Vucic attended the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi earlier in the day and met with Indian PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
