PRISTINA - A basic court in Pristina on Monday re-convicted Kosovo-Metohija Serb Dusko Arsic to 13 years in prison for an alleged war crime against civilians during the 1999 conflict in Kosovo-Metohija.
Arsic, who is from the Maticane village near Pristina, was sentenced in second-instance proceedings.
Initially, the court sentenced Arsic to the same prison term in February 2024 but an appeals court ordered a re-trial in January last year following an appeal by his defence.
The second-instance ruling may be appealed.
Arsic was arrested at the Jarinje administrative crossing in September 2021 following an attempt to resolve a problem with usurped property.
He has been held custody in Podujevo since the arrest.
