Vujic, Italian ambassador discuss Serbia's EU path

BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nenad Vujic met with Italian Ambassador to Belgrade Luca Gori on Tuesday to discuss the process of Serbia's EU integration and judicial reforms, and noted that full EU membership was Serbia's strategic goal.
Vujic noted that his ministry remained committed to further advancement of the legislative framework, efficiency of court proceedings and strengthening of rule of law.
Vujic and Gori discussed the results achieved to date in carrying out reform activities as part of the EU talks process, with special emphasis on Chapter 23 (Judiciary and Fundamental Human Rights).
They also spoke about bolstering activities and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against organised crime and corruption and in advancement of legal certainty.
Gori said Italy continued to support Serbia on the EU path, and noted the significance of regional stability, reforms and alignment with European standards.
Vujic and Gori agreed that continued constructive dialogue and cooperation were crucial for Serbia's progress in the EU integration process.
