Apostolovic, representatives of negotiating groups discuss opening of Clusters 2 and 5

BELGRADE - The chair of Serbia's Operating Team for EU Accession Danijel Apostolovic, who is also the country's chief negotiator in the accession process, met on Thursday in Belgrade with the heads and members of negotiating groups to discuss activities by state institutions that are required for opening Cluster 2 (Internal Market) and Cluster 5 (Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion) in the accession talks.
According to an evaluation by the European Commission (EC), Cluster 3 (Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth) is ready for opening, an official statement said.
In particular, the participants of the meeting discussed the pace of implementation of recommendations from the annual EC report, as well as steps from Serbia's Reform Agenda.
The 34 heads of negotiating groups delivered detailed reports on legislative and other strategic activities underway in the process of alignment with EU standards and regulations.
