Vucic receives Shandong Hi-Speed Group representatives

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a delegation of China's Shandong Hi-Speed Group corporation on Wednesday to discuss new possibilities for deepening cooperation in areas that are of great importance for Serbia's development.

"With representatives of the Shandong Hi-Speed Group corporation, (I spoke) about the further course of joint infrastructure projects, as well as about new possibilities for deepening cooperation in areas of great importance for Serbia's development. Cooperation with partners that have the know-how, the experience and the ability to take part in implementation of major and complex projects is especially important for our country because such undertakings change the face of Serbia and create the conditions for even quicker economic progress," Vucic posted on Instagram after the meeting.

He added that they had discussed the progress of works on the Danube Corridor - a major traffic route in eastern Serbia - as well the expectations that the remaining sections be completed as planned.

"Also discussed were future projects, above all, the Commander Karadjordje expressway and the second stage of development at the Constantine the Great Airport in Nis, which are of great importance for better connectivity, new investments and more even development of our country," Vucic added.

He noted that he was especially pleased the cooperation with Chinese partners was being built on the foundations of mutual trust, respect and firm ties the two countries had been developing for decades.

"Serbia and China are connected by a steely friendship, and the good relations we cherish at the highest level lend an additional impetus to transforming that cooperation into concrete results, visible to our citizens across the country," Vucic also posted.
