Vujic receives IMF delegation

BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nenad Vujic met on Monday with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Mission Chief Annette Kyobe to discuss improvements in digitalisation of the Serbian judiciary.

The meeting at the Ministry of Justice "highlighted the importance of modernising the judicial system through the application of modern digital tools that contribute to greater efficiency, transparency and accessibility of justice to individuals and businesses," a government statement said.

"Challenges in implementing digital solutions were also discussed, as well as the opportunities to enhance cooperation in order to strengthen institutional capacities and harmonisation with international standards.

Vujic informed the IMF representatives of the Ministry’s achievements in the field of digitalisation to date, as well as planned activities aimed at further development of e-Justice.

The IMF delegation expressed support for the reform processes in the Serbian judiciary, especially regarding digital transformation, as a key factor for improving the business environment and the rule of law.

The talks confirmed the commitment to continuing cooperation through exchange of expertise and support for projects that contribute to further modernisation of the judicial system of the Republic of Serbia," it also said.
