YEREVAN - Secretary General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dusan Kozarev met with his Armenian counterpart David Karapetyan on the sidelines of the Yerevan Dialogue 2026 conference on Tuesday.

"A mutual commitment to respect for international law and support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two traditionally close countries was reaffirmed," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

"The focus was on bilateral ties, with an emphasis on economic, infrastructure, energy and cultural cooperation, while current geopolitical topics were also discussed, particularly bearing in mind that Armenia shares a border with Iran.

Kozarev conveyed to his interlocutor deep concern over the latest wave of repression by the regime of Albin Kurti against Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, illustrating this with a number of draconian sentences, arrests and beatings that have been witnessed in the recent period.

The discussion also covered possibilities for further cooperation between the two ministries, particularly in the field of staff training, on which the interlocutors signed a relevant memorandum in February 2025 in the same city," it also said.

Kozarev was in Yerevan as a member of a Serbian delegation accompanying FM Marko Djuric, who took part in a Yerevan Dialogue 2026 panel and met with the Armenian FM.
