WASHINGTON - Continuing a working visit to Washington, Serbian Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starovic held a series of important meetings with members of the US Congress.

On the second day of the visit, Starovic spoke with Congressman Patrick Harrigan of North Carolina and Congressman Robert Aderholt of Alabama.

"Both interlocutors expressed great interest in further strengthening US-Serbian relations, especially in the context of the upcoming Strategic Dialogue between the two countries," the Serbian government said in a statement.

Aderholt accepted an invitation to join the Serbian Caucus in the US Congress, which Harrigan is already a member of.

"Starovic also met with US State Department's Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Ellen Germain, with whom he exchanged views on joint efforts to combat growing anti-Semitism around the world, as well as the revision and distortion of WWII history, which is particularly present in certain countries.

As the head of the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), the Minister also held substantive meetings with representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the American Jewish Committee (AJC)," it also said.
