BELGRADE - Serbia wants to be a country of stability, predictability and development, and cooperation among institutions, businesses and the financial sector is important for that, Serbian PM Djuro Macut said on Friday at the opening of Business Summit 2026 in Belgrade.
"For that very reason, it is important that people who make decisions, launch investments and generate new economic value have gathered in one place today," Macut said at the summit, hosted by Euronews Serbia at Lozionica.
He said the summit was taking place in a time when dialogue, confidence and a partnership between the state and businesses, as well as the media, were exceptionally important.
"Today, Serbia wants to be a country of stability, predictability and development, but no serious vision can materialise without strong cooperation among institutions, businesses and the financial sector," he said.
He said the summit’s theme, A Vision in the Making, was a fitting description of the present times.
"Challenges are ahead of us, as is a great opportunity to together define when we want Serbia and the region to look better, clearer and more promising in the years to come. I believe that today's discussions will open up space for new partnerships and concrete projects, and connect the state and businesses in an even better way," Macut said, adding that the objective was to "together build a stable, modern and competitive economic system."
