BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday, and noted that they had had a good and open discussion on bilateral relations, the European path of Serbia and Ukraine and advancement of economic cooperation.
"An open and good discussion with President Zelenskyy about our countries' bilateral relations, the European path of Serbia and Ukraine, as well as about opportunities to further advance economic cooperation and ties in areas of mutual interest, including discussions about concluding a FTA between Serbia and Ukraine," Vucic posted on his buducnostrbijeav Instagram account.
He added that the topics discussed also included Thursday's visit to Serbia by Ukrainian Deputy PM for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Taras Kachka, which he noted would represent an important step in further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
"We also discussed the significance of dialogue, mutual understanding and a responsible approach to problem-solving, and we agreed that peace and preservation of human lives are values that must be a priority," Vucic wrote in the post.
He added that they had also reaffirmed a commitment to further advancement of bilateral relations through open dialogue, mutual respect and strengthening of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with emphasis on economic cooperation as a foundation for long-term development and stability.
