BELGRADE - Serbia sees its cooperation with African countries and the Non-Aligned Movement as one of the main comparative advantages of its foreign policy, FM Marko Djuric said on Friday at an Africa Day ceremony in Belgrade, thanking African countries that support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia in Kosovo-Metohija.

"We are convinced that the future belongs to the countries of the African continent, as well as to countries like Serbia, which are capable of adapting to new circumstances and of representing a bridge between continents in very difficult times," Djuric said at the Palace of Serbia.

He also thanked African countries that will participate in EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which he said would change the face of Belgrade and Serbia for the better.

"I would like to thank the PM and the president of the Republic for providing a firm framework for the strategic relations our country has with the countries and peoples of Africa. May the friendship between Serbia and African states be eternal," Djuric said, noting that Serbia was proud of the decades-long friendship.

Established in 2017, Africa Day is marked in Serbia on May 25 to honour the friendship with African nations.
