Macut, UAE's Suhail discuss cooperation in area of family policy

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with UAE Minister of Family Sana Suhail in Belgrade on Monday to discuss advancement of bilateral cooperation in the areas of family policy, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

"Macut emphasised that improving cooperation in these areas is of mutual interest and will be an additional step in the overall relations between the two countries," a government statement said.

"He pointed out that, given the decline in the birth rate, which affects the whole of Europe and a large part of the world, the issue of family policy is of exceptional importance and that Serbia is continuously improving measures to support families and parenthood, thus demonstrating that it is systematically and responsibly approaching the strengthening of the family," it said.

"The family is the meaning of everything, and that is why strengthening families is one of the most important tasks of the Government of Serbia," Macut noted.
