BELGRADE - The operating team for Serbia’s EU accession, chaired by Ambassador Danijel Apostolovic, head of the Serbian Mission to the EU and chief negotiator in the EU accession talks, met on Monday.

"Apostolovic spoke about the importance of the upcoming visit of President of the European Council Antonio Costa to Belgrade, as well as about the topics of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, which will be held on June 5 in Tivat," a government statement said.

Apostolovic briefed the team on the "results of meetings he had held in Brussels in the previous period with the ambassadors of EU member states, representatives of the Political and Security Committee, as well as representatives of European institutions, advocating for the acceleration of Serbia’s accession negotiations with the EU," it said.

Apostolovic informed the team of the "meeting he will hold with the chairpersons of all negotiating groups on June 2 on the topic of the recommendations from the European Commission’s (EC) Annual Report for 2025, assessing that it is necessary for the pace of their implementation to be significantly better," the statement said.

"He also announced that he will attend the meeting on the Reform Agenda on June 2, as well as a session of the Public Administration Reform Council on June 3, emphasising the exceptional importance of this issue," it said.
