BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic met on Thursday in Belgrade with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Peter Sorensen to discuss pressure by the Pristina authorities on Kosovo-Metohija Serbs ahead of June 7 elections in the province.
"I pointed to the pressure faced by our people, to politically motivated arrests and to escalatory moves the Pristina regime is making at the peak of the pre-election campaign," Petkovic posted on Instagram.
He added that the meeting with Sorensen had been constructive, addressing problems faced by the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and challenges in the process of normalisation of relations and implementation of agreements.
Sorensen is in Belgrade as a member of an EU delegation headed by European Council President Antonio Costa.
