KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Srpska lista leader Zlatan Elek said on Sunday evening that, in the elections for the Kosovo-Metohija provincial assembly earlier in the day, the party had won 42,166 votes, or all ten seats guaranteed to the Serbs.
Addressing a press conference at the Srpska lista headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica, Elek said the party of Nenad Rasic - a Serb politician - had won 3,411 votes in Serb communities.
"It is my obligation and my duty to inform you of the fantastic results in a fourth or fifth electoral cycle in the past 18 months. Thank you to the Serbs for the excellent and exceptional results," Elek said.
He said that, in spite of arrests of Srpska lista members and activists, the party had succeeded in achieving excellent results.
"We won 42,166 votes, those are votes from the Serb communities. Nenad Rasic won 3,411. In December, Srpska lista won 41,989 votes, while Rasic won 4,083," Elek said.
He conveyed the congratulations of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian state leadership to the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.
