Vucic: We are protecting our country by investing in army, no one will dare to attack us

BELGRADE - By investing in its army, Serbia is protecting its skies and its land, and no one will dare to attack us, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday.

Vucic was speaking at the ceremonial part of an electoral session of the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia, a coalition partner of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.

"Some ask why the country is investing so much in the army - Serbia would cease to exist within 48 hours if it were not investing in the army," he said.

"Just take a look around us, let alone at the big powers. This way, by investing in the army, we are protecting our skies and our country, and no one will dare to attack us. We used to be able to take down two or three aggressor planes. Today, no one would be able to attack Serbia without sustaining losses that would be hundreds of times greater - not tens of times, but hundreds of times more severe. I just want you to know how much stronger Serbia is and how much times have changed," Vucic said.
