ALAVERDI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday a visit to the Alaverdi St George monastery, with which he concluded a three-day official trip to Georgia, would remain one of his most beautiful memories from the country.
Vucic, who was accompanied on the visit to the monastery by his wife Tamara, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and his wife Tamar Bagrationi, signed a book of guests of honour.
In an Instagram post, Vucic wrote that he was impressed by the magnificent architectural masterpiece that he noted connected the heritage of past times with new generations.
"A visit to this place, which has, for centuries, been a meeting place of religion, culture, education and the tradition of wine-making, will remain one of my most beautiful memories from friendly Georgia," Vucic posted on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.
Vucic visits Georgia's Alaverdi St George monastery
ALAVERDI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his wife Tamara visited the Alaverdi St George monastery in Georgia's Kakheti region on Wednesday.
Established in the 6th century, the monastery is one of the most significant spiritual and cultural monuments in Georgia.
Aleksandar and Tamara Vucic were accompanied by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and his wife Tamar Bagrationi.
The visitors, who included Serbian government ministers Dragan Glamocic and Jagoda Lazarevic, were welcomed by the Metropolitan of Alaverdi, David.
