BELGRADE - An exhibition of Xinhua News Agency photos documenting the history of the friendship between Serbia and China was ceremonially opened at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Belgrade on Thursday.
The ceremony was also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade Li Ming.
The exhibition marks ten years of a Serbia-China strategic partnership, established on June 18, 2016.
The main part of the exhibition is comprised of some 70 historic Xinhua photos documenting meetings and the development of the relations between the two countries from 1975 to the present times.
An accompanying exhibition displays the achievements of key joint projects by Serbia and China, such as a Belgrade-Budapest high-speed rail line.
It also documents the operations of Chinese companies in Serbia - Shandong Hi-Speed Group, Serbia Zijin Mining and Serbia Zijin Copper - as well as the work of the Chinese Cultural Centre.
Addressing the ceremony, Vucic said he believed Serbia had proven to be a sincere friend of China, and added that he believed in a steely friendship between the two countries and nations.
"I want to say an enormous thank you to (Chinese) President (Xi) Jinping for the hospitality given to me, our delegation and our country. Thank you for always showing respect to a small country like Serbia, and for not behaving arrogantly like some others often behave towards smaller countries, and we can learn much from that. Thank you for the friendship," Vucic said.
