BELGRADE - In a telephone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Serbia welcomed the cessation of armed conflicts and courageous political decisions leading to a calming of tensions, dialogue and lasting peace, as well as to continued discussions and cooperation.
Vucic added that they had also exchanged views on other current regional and global topics, as well as on the significance of preserving peace, stability and international security in a time of major geopolitical challenges.
"A good and open discussion with President Pezeshkian during which I noted that Serbia welcomes the cessation of armed conflicts and courageous political decisions leading to a calming of tensions, dialogue and lasting peace, as well as to continued discussions and cooperation," Vucic posted on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.
Vucic also noted the significance of rebuilding the afflicted areas and a return of economic development to the focus of political and social priorities as stability, economic progress and ties forged among states were the firmest foundations of peace both for the Middle East and the wider international community.
"Serbia will continue to support any responsible effort towards a more just, safer and more peaceful world, in the belief that lasting solutions are built through dialogue, mutual respect and compromise," Vucic posted.
