Macut, Pasalic and Marinovic discuss protection of citizens' rights, rule of law

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met on Wednesday with Ombudsman Zoran Pasalic and Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Milan Martinovic to discuss strengthening of cooperation among state institutions in protection of the citizens’ rights, advancement of rule of law and strengthening of public trust in institutions.
"Macut emphasised that the Government of Serbia is committed to further strengthening the protection of the citizens’ rights and public trust in institutions through strengthening institutions, improving the legislative framework and open dialogue with independent bodies," a government statement said.
"In this context, the interlocutors discussed opportunities for improving efficiency and strengthening cooperation among institutions in order to respond to the citizens’ needs in a timely and effective manner, and emphasised that it is necessary to continue continuous dialogue in order to further improve the standards of protection of the citizens’ rights and the quality of public services," it said.
