Vucic posthumously decorates Serbian Armed Forces NCO killed in Lebanon

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has posthumously decorated Serbian Armed Forces Staff Sergeant Milovan Jovanovic, who was killed on June 4 while serving in the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

A presidential decree published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia said Jovanovic had been awarded the Order of Karadjordje's Star 1st Class for special merit in representing the Republic of Serbia in the field of security and defence.

Jovanovic, who was 36, is survived by his wife and two underage children.

After joining the Serbian Armed Forces in 2011, he was deployed to the UN mission in Lebanon in January this year.
