BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Mexican Ambassador to Belgrade Carlos Felix Corona on Friday to discuss bilateral relations between Serbia and Mexico, the current geopolitical circumstances and opportunities for further advancement of cooperation.
In an Instagram post, Vucic noted that this year marked 80 years since the establishment of Serbia-Mexico diplomatic relations, and noted that it was a significant anniversary that was a testimony to "a long friendship, mutual respect and a partnership we want to continue to develop."
He added that he had thanked Mexico for its principled position and consistent support for respect for international law, as well as for not recognising the so-called Kosovo.
"We are exceptionally appreciative of such a position, and I believe we will continue to develop political, economic, cultural and any other cooperation of mutual interest," Vucic noted.
He expressed the hope there would soon be opportunities for exchanging high-level visits, which he noted would boost further the relations between the two countries.
