KYIV - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has arrived in Kyiv, where he will attend a Southeast Europe-Ukraine summit on Wednesday.

The summit will also be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and top officials of Albania, Moldova, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Turkey and Greece (online), while Pristina has not been invited.

"The fifth Southeast Europe-Ukraine summit I will be attending, representing our Serbia. After Odessa, Athens, Dubrovnik and Tirana, it is now Kyiv's turn. I believe we will have a good summit, support each other on the European path and increase bilateral cooperation," Vucic posted on Instagram.

He added that, as always, discussions on a joint declaration at the summit would not be easy.

"After Paris, I travelled in the afternoon and all night, via Moldova and central Ukraine to get to Kyiv. I am a little tired, but I will fight and safeguard Serbia," Vucic noted.

On Tuesday, Vucic attended France's Bastille Day military parade in Paris.
