Brnabic: Strategic dialogue with US one of Serbia's most important achievements in decades

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Wednesday Serbia was very appreciative of a strategic relationship with the US, and added that, for Belgrade, launching strategic dialogue with Washington was one of the most achievements in decades.

Speaking at an international conference titled Partners in a changing world: Central & Eastern Europe, America, Israel and the new Middle East, Brnabic also said Serbia deeply appreciated the friendship and partnership with Israel and that the relations between the two countries rested upon their sincere readiness to understand each other in difficult times.

"Serbia deeply appreciates its friendship and partnership with Israel. Also, we highly appreciate our strategic relationship with the US," she said at the conference, hosted in the Serbian parliament building by the Serbian-American Friendship Congress.

"I am glad we are meeting just a few days before the start of strategic dialogue between the US and Serbia, which means much to us and is one of our most significant achievements in the past several decades," Brnabic said.

Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Tuesday Washington had decided to launch strategic dialogue between the US and Serbia and that the first session of the dialogue was scheduled for Friday, July 17.
