BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starovic said Friday's launch of US-Serbia strategic dialogue was an important milestone in the relations between the two countries, and noted that the strategic dialogue would pave the way for US investments in Serbia worth up to 20 bln dollars.
Work on preparations for the strategic dialogue has been going on for years, especially in the past year, on a course set by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and many people in the Serbian diplomatic service, including FM Marko Djuric, Starovic said.
"This represents a very comprehensive form of diplomatic, political and economic and security cooperation," he said, adding that political and security cooperation with the US, as well as cooperation in the energy sector, environmental protection, infrastructure development and new technologies, was expected to be stepped up in the coming period.
"A large number of US investments in Serbia that await us and are currently under consideration and development, will be a direct, immediate result," Starovic noted in an appearance on K1 TV, adding that the investments were worth up to 20 bln dollars.
