BELGRADE - A group of newly-elected judges took the oath of office in the Serbian parliament on Tuesday before Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and Supreme Court President Miroljub Tomic.
Congratulating the judges, Tomic said he believed they would perform their duty in an unbiased and independent manner in line with the Constitution and the law to ensure fair trial to all and contribute to the reputation of the judicial office.
"I expect that, as newly-elected holders of judicial office, you will make a significant contribution to the continuation of the reform of the judicial system to create an independent, modern and efficient judiciary and promote rule of law," Tomic told the judges.
The judges were elected at High Judicial Council sessions held in April and May this year.
The oath-taking ceremony was also attended by High Judicial Council President Bojana Coguric and Council members Dijana Jankovic and Natasa Milenkovic.
