Dacic: Fight for Kosovo-Metohija, territorial integrity is our diplomatic priority

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic noted on Wednesday that the fight for Kosovo-Metohija and the preservation of Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity had been the most important segment of his ministry's work in the first six months of the present government's term and would remain so in the future.

"All ministries and all of us government members have Kosovo-Metohija as the priority of their engagement as it is our most important, unparalleled state issue. As a part of Serbia, Kosovo-Metohija is a matter of our internal relations and decisions, but a violation of our sovereignty and territorial integrity is the gravest thing that can befall any state and is very much related to external factors," Dacic said in a statement to Tanjug.

He said Serbian citizens witnessed the huge efforts the country was investing to preserve its integrity and noted that the efforts had been going on not for six months, but years.

He noted that the Brussels Agreement had been adopted ten years ago but that a Community of Serb Municipalities had still not been formed.

Dacic said Kosovo-Metohija "is the priority for our diplomacy today, as it was six months ago and ten years ago."

"The Kosovo-Metohija issue has been internationalised a long time ago, much before this government and the current president," Dacic noted.
