BELGRADE - Belgrade Deputy Mayor Vesna Vidovic received a delegation of China's Fujian province at the Old Palace on Wednesday.
The parties discussed opportunities for further strengthening of exchange and cooperation in investment, trade and the economy, as well as the significance of direct ties and cultural exchange, an official statement said.
The visit by the Fujian delegation is a continuation of good relations and contacts that have been intensified further in recent years, it said.
Vidovic noted that she had visited Xiamen - a city in Fujian - last year to sign a twinning agreement between Belgrade and Xiamen, which opened up additional space for development of friendly relations, experience-sharing and new forms of ties.
"The steely friendship between Serbia and PR China, solidified further by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the President of PR China, Xi Jinping, through their relationship and a strong strategic partnership, represents a solid foundation upon which we can build even more substantial relations," Vidovic said.
They expressed readiness to continue to develop cooperation and exchange in the future, especially in digitalisation, the economy, trade, investment, tourism and culture, and noted that there were numerous opportunities for new joint projects, the statement said.
