Dacic meets with UAE ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met with UAE Ambassador to Belgrade Ahmed AlMenhali on Wednesday.

"At the meeting they discussed possibilities for improving the provisions of the existing Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Driving Licences between Serbia and the UAE, as well as possibilities for the use of electronic gates (e-gates) at Belgrade Airport for UAE nationals," a government statement said.

Looking back on a recent official visit to Serbia by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which he met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Dacic and Almenhali agreed it had lent a strong impetus to further strengthening of strategic partnership, friendly relations and overall bilateral cooperation.

Vucic and AlMenhali confirmed a "mutual commitment to further developing and improving cooperation in the areas under the competence of the Ministries of the Interior," the statement said.

They noted that it was based on mutual trust, firm friendly ties and a joint commitment by Serbia and the UAE to strengthening bilateral relations.
