SNS has 48.6 pct voter support, four electoral lists would clear threshold - survey

BELGRADE - If early parliamentary elections in Serbia were to be held next Sunday, the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) would win the highest number of votes, ahead of second-placed Student List, and two more lists would clear the electoral threshold - a Socialist Party of Serbia-led coalition and the European Serbia coalition, the latest Faktor plus survey shows.

According to the survey of 986 participants, carried out between September 16 and 20, the United Serbia list, headed by Aleksandar Vucic, would win 48.6 pct of votes, which is a 1.4 pct increase compared to the pollster's previous survey, conducted last month, Blic reports.

The Student List would win 37.1 pct, which is a 5.6 pct increase.

With 4.9 pct, the Socialists would make it into the new parliament, as would European Serbia - a coalition comprised of the Freedom and Justice Party, Serbia Centre and Solidarity - which could count on 3.6 pct of votes.

On the other hand, an Authentic Right-New Democratic Party of Serbia-Monarchists coalition has 2.8 pct support, while the list of the We, The Power Of The People-People's Party coalition would win 1.2 pct of votes.

Sixty-two per cent of the survey participants said they would vote in the elections, while 22 pct said they would not and 16 pct said they did not know whether they would do so.
