Nineteen electoral lists approved, one withdrawn

BELGRADE - Serbia's national electoral commission has approved 19 lists for the October 25 early parliamentary polls.

One of the electoral lists has been withdrawn.

Nine of the approved lists are national minority lists.

The deadline for submitting electoral lists expired on October 4 and the collective electoral list must be published by October 9.

A Serbian Progressive Party-led list named Aleksandar Vucic-United Serbia was the first approved list, and was followed by the Ivica Dacic-Stability Factor list, submitted by a coalition formed by the Socialist Party of Serbia, United Serbia, the Social Democratic Party of Serbia and the Greens of Serbia.

The third approved list was the Student List-The Students Will Win, headed by Ilija Srdanovic, a professor at the Novi Sad Faculty of Medicine, and was followed by a list of the Sandzak Democratic Party-Montenegrin Democratic Party coalition, named Human SDP/CDP and headed by Rasim Ljajic.

The Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians-Dr Balint Pastor list was the fifth approved list and was followed by two other national minority lists, the Usame Zukorlic-Movement for Unification, submitted by the Justice and Reconciliation Party, and the Russian Party-Serbia in BRICS list, headed by Slobodan Nikolic.

The eighth approved list is the Authentic Right list, headed by Milos Jovanovic and submitted by a coalition around the New Democratic Party of Serbia.

The ninth approved list, The People's Choice-Miroslav Miki Aleksic-Milos Parandilovic-Aleksandar Jovanovic Cuta, submitted by the People's Serbia party, was withdrawn on September 24.

Consequently, an electoral list named European Serbia: Marinika Tepic, Zdravko Ponos, Freedom and Justice Party, Serbia Centre, Solidarity, Self-Defence, Liberation is to appear under number nine in the ballot and will be followed by a national minority list named PDA Sandzak-Guardians of Sandzak, submitted by the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak.

The Strength of Serbia Movement-BK list, headed by businessman Bogoljub Karic, will appear under number 11 and be followed by a list submitted by the Liberal Green Party and a minority list submitted by the Party of Future and Development and the Civic Party of Serbian Greeks.

Another minority list, submitted by the Party of Russian-Serbian Unity, will appear under number 14, and a Dad, This Is For You list, headed by Petar Djuric, follows.

An Alternative for Serbia-People's Party, Rebellion-True Serbia list, headed by Vladimir Gajic, will appear under number 16 and be followed by an Albanian Coalition - a minority list submitted by seven ethnic Albanian parties.

A list named Mother Serbia-Native Soil, submitted by representatives of the Slovak national minority, will appear under number 18 in the ballot.
