BELGRADE - Aleksandar Vucic, who heads the Aleksandar Vucic-United Serbia electoral list for the October 25 early parliamentary polls in Serbia, said on Wednesday evening he believed that, if he became PM or deputy PM, a visit to Serbia by US President Donald Trump could be secured by the end of Trump's tenure.

"If I remain 'something' or 'somebody' in the country - either PM or deputy PM - I believe we could secure that,'" Vucic said on B92 TV when asked if a visit by Trump was possible.

"I am telling you now that, otherwise, he will certainly not come - simply, you will see what kind of policy will be pursued," he added.

He noted that Serbia was on the EU path and had to be there, but in a very rational manner, and that it needed to understand the messages the EU was sending.

Speaking about the upcoming elections, Vucic said he understood the message behind the appointment of EU observers.

"I understood excellently the message they sent to us by appointing Schieder. To me, it is clear what they will be doing here - the same thing they were doing the last time: escalating tensions and deceiving the public," he said.

"Last time, they trampled the observers' code but we will also have Russian and US observers this time, we will have observers from many other countries, so there will be observers from many countries, and they will be able to make their own conclusions," Vucic said.

Vucic: Croatia brutally interfering in Serbian elections, we have sent protest note

BELGRADE - Aleksandar Vucic, who heads the Aleksandar Vucic-United Serbia electoral list for the October 25 early parliamentary polls in Serbia, said on Wednesday evening no country had interfered in another country's elections as much and as brutally as Croatia was interfering in the upcoming elections in Serbia, and added that Belgrade had sent a note of protest to Zagreb.

In an appearance on B92 TV, Vucic said it was good that the Serbian MFA had sent the protest note, but added that "perhaps it should have been done a thousand times by now."

"It is important to leave a record that we knew that Croatia interfered in our electoral process in the most open manner. Therefore, we have sent a note of protest. We just want to say this: no country has interfered in anyone's elections as much and as brutally as Croatia is interfering in ours. Never. I think that should demonstrate, present and show a lot of things to the people," Vucic said.
