BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Friday that, in the wake of two mass shootings in Serbia earlier this month, foreign agencies were directly trying to destabilise the country, and reiterated that there would be no change of government in Serbia without elections.

During a parliamentary debate on the security situation in the country, Brnabic said her cabinet was unanimous on all issues and that no minister had walked out of a government session.

"My message to the citizens of Serbia is that they should not believe lies, disinformation and attempts by foreign agencies to create chaos in Serbia. Everything that is going on is coming directly from foreign agencies and is a direct destabilisation of Serbia," Brnabic said.

Commenting on reports by some media that FM and Socialist Party of Serbia leader Ivica Dacic had walked out of a government session over disagreements on some issues, Brnabic said:

"Such a shameless lie can only be pushed by someone who wants to destabilise Serbia. That is a lie that is easy to check."

"There will be no Maidans or a change of government in the streets, and elections are the only mechanism. We will not be clinging on to our posts, and resignations are the least problem," Brnabic said.

In a statement to Tanjug, Dacic has said some media had been publishing lies for days to create "confusion" ahead of a May 26 pro-government rally in Belgrade.

He announced the Socialists and their coalition partners, United Serbia and Greens of Serbia, would take part in the rally.
