Ukraine's position on Kosovo unchanged - ambassador

BELGRADE - Ukraine's Ambassador to Belgrade Volodymyr Tolkach on Tuesday thanked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for a statement drawing attention to developments in Ukraine, as well as for humanitarian aid provided to Ukrainians and for exceptionally favourable conditions created for displaced persons from Ukraine who have found refuge in Serbia.

In a statement released by the Ukrainian embassy, Tolkach reiterated Ukraine's principled position of respect of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and support to the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

He noted that, at this time, an escalation of the security situation in Kosovo and the Balkan region was primarily in the interest of Russia, which he said would thus divert Europe's attention from "Russian war crimes in Ukraine."
