Dream big and do not criticise others, Vucic tells young athletes

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday received a group of young Serb athletes from Kosovo-Metohija, Republika Srpska and the diaspora and told them to "dream big as that is the only way to achieve great things."

"Do not set small goals for yourself. Do not enjoy speaking ill of others and criticising them, but think about what you can do for yourselves, your families and your countries," Vucic told participants of the 2023 Serbia is Calling You camp, adding that diligence and sacrifice always paid off.

Serb children from the US, Western Europe, North Macedonia, Albania, Croatia and Republika Srpska took part in the camp for a fourth consecutive year.

Vucic thanked them for coming to Belgrade and showing so much love for Serbia.

"I am glad you have come here. It is 10 or 11 days. You could have stayed for a little longer, to enjoy Belgrade and Serbia," Vucic said at the Palace of Serbia reception.

He thanked the Serbia women's national basketball team and all other athletes who had worked with the children.

Vucic noted that he was convinced that the sporting spirit was unbreakable and that it created hard-working, diligent people who set high goals for themselves.
